Turbopack incorrectly reports 'Global CSS cannot be imported from files other than your Custom <App>' when pages/_app.tsx imports both a global CSS file and a font from next/font/google, even though _app.tsx is the custom app. The issue occurs only with the combination; removing either import resolves the error.
Next.js v16 changes router.refresh() to immediately refetch all in-viewport prefetched <Link> entries, whereas v15 only marked them stale and waited for user intent. Each refetch results in a Vercel ISR write, causing daily ISR writes to increase from 7.1M to 358.5M (~50x) and peak up to 1.52B (~200x).
When a Next.js Pages Router application defines any rewrite rule, production hydration triggers an additional client-side render for all routes, including those not affected by the rewrite. This is caused by a global flag that enables rewrite-aware reconciliation unconditionally, rather than only for requests whose route or query actually diverge due to a rewrite.
